Everneath/Purge/Agents of Light and Darkness and Curses! A F**cked up Fairy Tale

Hi all! Sorry long time no post - same excuse as always, work/crochet/sleep/read and not enough time in the day.

Last post I mentioned I had started reading Everneath. I LOVED this book. I thought it was really creative and interesting, although a bit sad at the end. I know there is going to be a second book and I'm excited to see what Brodi Ashton is going to do with it.

After that I read Purge by Sarah Darer Littman which was about a girl who ended up in a rehab facility because she was bulimic. It was written in part story and part journal entry. I thought it was really well done. It was a quick read.

Then I read The Hunger Games because the movie came out and also because everyone kept asking me if I'd read it! So yes, I've read it! I really liked it. It was interesting, and I'm excited to see the movie. I've heard that it was really good and true to the book. I don't know who I want Katniss to end up with Gale or Peeta. I might have to go with Gale because every time I read Peeta's name i got hungry LOL! I would recommend reading this to anyone.

So I got hooked on Simon R. Green's Nightside novels. They are a really fast read, they are interesting, and I love the characters. I finished reading the second book Agents of Light and Darkness where the main character John Taylor goes in search of the unholy grail. I have started reading the third one in the series Nightingale's Lament.

I have to admit I'm a sucker for fairytales, and outside of work I have a mouth like a trucker so reading Curses! A F**cked up fairytale was a no brainer. It was filled with foul language, but it was really hilarious. It was a spoof on regular fairytales where in this one Cinderella is murdered, and her whole family is bonkers. It was great. I read that there is going to be another book by this author spoofing a different sort of fairytale so I can't wait to read that.

So right now I'm reading A Nightingale's Lament and Truth (XVI #2) it's the second book in the XVI series. It's a dystopian young adult novel. I'm really enjoying it. The first one was fantastic. After that I have a pile of books that I have to get to, and I just bought one at B&N so hopefully over this Easter weekend I will get some reading done, or finish this baby blanket so I will have time to read more! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and I promise to start writing a better blog soon!
