I started this book last night and couldn't put it down! It started off almost like Juliette was writing in a diary or journal, and i loved it. I loved that parts were crossed off, like she had changed her mind about what she wanted people to read. I thought this story was very fresh and it was something new. It really came together at the end when Juliette and Adam ended up at the Movement headquarters and she finds out that there are other people with special powers like her. She goes from being very fore lorn in the beginning and thinking shes a monster to understanding that while she's different, that doesn't have to be a bad thing. I'm excited to read the next book when it comes out. Although this book is part of a trilogy it could easily be a stand alone novel if someone wasn't interested in finding out more about the characters.
It was really easy to read and I loved that the narration was almost like we were inside of Juliette's head. I thought the style of writing was different, but refreshing and it just made the story go along really fast. While the first few chapters were confusing as to what exactly was going on, you do get your questions answered. It was a really fun read.
I'm going to start reading Cinder by Marissa Meyer tonight, I've heard good things so I'm hoping it's good. I love retelling of the classic fairy tales.
